Nothing we have done in the last year and a half has generated the enthusiastic response that the Parent-Teacher conference scheduler has. Go figure! ... It was actually easier than we thought it would be. After a few phone calls to other schools, I had the names of a couple of on-line programs, but one stood out with wonderful recommendations: Virtual Paragon. We had incredibly positive feedback. One parent wrote that "this was not just a good idea but a fabulous one." Another excitedly commented that "the system worked GREAT! Parents were not racing from room to room trying to get appointments." The consensus was that "the system worked perfectly and was painless" and "that it beats the hell out of running around frantically putting one's name on sign-up sheets."A.K. & L.P., Jun 2007
Teachers also loved the new system. ... Most importantly, teachers found that because parents had scheduled ahead of time, they arrived much happier and less frazzled. The less frantic pace seemed to allow more focus on the actual conversation and not on the scheduling.
Administratively, the system worked wonders. ... We had record numbers of parents attend, and yet the day was smoother then ever.
... Ultimately, the technology helped impact not only the scheduling, but the quality of the conferences themselves. Both teachers and parents reporting feeling more at ease and less harried, allowing the focus to be where it should be, on the students. The transition from a manual signup process to the online program raised the belief in the competency and effectiveness of technology. It took a bit of a leap of faith, but we encourage you to take the initative and use it next year. After all, technology is supposed to make our lives simpler and better, and in this case, it did.
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support and help as we implemented the online appointment system. It worked beautifully and our parents and faculty were raving about the system throughout the course of the conferences. I have saved emails from parents praising if not exalting your system. It was a tremendous improvement over past years' conferences and we will definitely use it again next year. Please feel free to list [us] as a reference. In addition, our tech director has written an article on tech implementation that focuses on our change to an online system. He is hoping to submit for publication. While the article focuses more on aspects of implementation of technology and resistance it meets, clearly a major part in the success of the change was the design of your program.L.P., Jan 2007
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Our parent teacher conferences were on Friday and we received nothing but rave reviews about the new system. Our families thought it was so easy to use and our faculty appreciated knowing their schedules. Parents were much more relaxed about the day in general knowing they had control over their schedules and would not be waiting in long lines. I agree ... This program is wonderful. I have been at [our school] for 18 years, and this has been the best conference sign up. It's also fun. Sitting on the phone for days was not only boring, but not a very efficient way of doing things. Thanks.

TIME SAVED: literally, about 90 hours. Last year I put in so much overtime to do the same job as the Software did, that I ended up with a 2 week vacation. Last week I actually went to bed on time -- [but] last year I worked around the clock to schedule conferences. ... Virtual Paragon is a great choice for booking teacher/parent conferences. The platform is easy to navigate and is very user friendly. It literally took me two seconds to set up the account and make a reservation accordingly. A very effective system.M.B.M., Oct 2008

Teacher conferences made easy!!!!! I have almost no computer skills and I am happy to say that this was the easiest conference sign up in all my many years at [the school]!!!!!!!!! Great idea! So easy to use. Since we work (and also live in [another state]!) unfortunately, we had missed the chance to sign up for many of the teachers for past parent teacher conferences and had to do "telephone conferences". I have just finished scheduling parent-teacher conferences for [my children] in Lower, Middle and Upper schools. It was an amazingly easy process. I really like the new system. I kept wondering to myself how you and your colleagues ... ever handled this in the past by yourself!!!
